Child Protection for CWD

UNICEF – Child Protection Fund (CPF) – Enhancing Access to Preventive and Responsive Child Protection Services for Children with Disabilities in Zimbabwe (ends 31 Dec 2021)

21 districts (Epworth Chitungwiza, Fort St, Tredgold, Murewa, Mudzi, Zvimba, Sanyati, Gokwe North, Shurugwi, Kwekwe, Mwenezi, Binga, Umzingwane, Beitbridge, Bulilima, Mangwe, Buhera, Makoni, Marondera)

Strengthen Community, District and Provincial child and social  Protection systems strengthened to respond to the needs of 1500 CWD affected/at risk of violence through the NCMS

Provision of PSS services to 4000 CWD

Ensuring equitable access to justice services for 300 CWD including support on sign language interpreter expenses & documenting patterns of sexual abuse against CWD

Targeting  2000 caregivers  and 500 adolescents with disabilities to ensure they have improved knowledge and skills to prevent violence and abuse of CWD including addressing negative social norms

Improve the capacity of key community-level service providers for CWD and their caregivers
