Through a comprehensive CBR holistic strategy, we strive to create an inclusive society.
Spanning across eight provinces, our program centres on children and youths with disabilities, their families and the community at large, to ensure that everyone has access to the same life opportunities and disability services. To realize our goals, JF Kapnek Zimbabwe in collaboration with 22 Partner Organizations specializing in disability programming to address attitudinal, environmental, and institutional barriers hindering the full participation and integration of children and youths with disabilities into society. Together, we aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of these children, youths with disabilities, their families and the community through awareness raising campaigns on disability rights and inclusion all community development initiatives.
Our Community Based Rehabilitation Program is guided by a social rights-based model, strategically implementing interventions across the five key components of the CBR Matrix (Health, Education, Social, Livelihood and Empowerment). These initiatives are designed to promote disability inclusion in critical areas such as Health, Education, Social Participation, Livelihood, and Empowerment, all of which significantly impact the lives of children and youth with disabilities.
Our activities encompass a range of efforts, including improving care outcomes, challenging stereotypes, and negative social perceptions about individuals with disabilities, providing comprehensive child protection services, reducing preventable disabilities, and offering support and assistive devices to enhance the daily lives of children and youth with disabilities. These interventions aim to empower individuals living with disabilities and their families to actively engage in community development initiatives and overcome both physical and sociological barriers present within their communities. By fostering meaningful participation and inclusion, we strive to create a more accessible and supportive environment for all members of society, regardless of their abilities.
To achieve disability inclusion, our Partner Organisation work in collaboration with persons with disabilities, their families, the community, Government actors, Organisations for Persons with disabilities, Civil Society Organisation, Non-Governmental Organisations, Faith based Organisations, community structures and the government capitalising on community available resources.
